This was a huge week for OnePlus the young phone maker unveiled the OnePlus 6T, but more importantly it got a solid footing in the US market with support from T-Mobile and Qualcomm. The people crowded the streets to grab one, the launch went as well as the company could have possibly hoped.

But is it a good phone? The new design reigned in the large notch of the OnePlus 6 and introduced an in-display fingerprint reader, which is among the best weve seen. The battery capacity was also increased to a respectable 3,700mAh.

Also, the base storage was upped to 128GB to offset the increase in base price - 580, up from 520. The 6T is already available in some regions, here are more details on the pricing.

But not everything is better. For one, the OnePlus 6T axed the 3.5mm headphone jack. The increase in battery capacity didnt come with a new faster Dash Charge, even though there are several competing flagships with 40W+ chargers (including 50W ones from Oppo). And still no wireless charging despite having a glass back again.

The camera was barely changed. Yes, the Nightscape feature is pretty cool, but the OnePlus 6 got it via an update a couple of days ago. The list goes on: still no telephoto or ultra-wide cam, still no waterproofing, still no stereo speakers, still no Always On Display. The Snapdragon 845 chipset is great, but there are 7nm chips on the market now.

To be fair, Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Google are charging sky-high prices for their flagships, so the OnePlus 6T compares favorably in terms of bang for buck. But what of the likes of Xiaomi (and sub-brand Poco) and Honor?

So, what say you are you getting a 6T, holding on to your older OnePlus or looking at other brands?
