Week 11 in review: all about the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro

This week we saw a big jump in Huawei P30-related stories, which is to be expected as we draw closer to their official launch on March 26.

By far the biggest story was Huawei's ad campaign to tease the P30 Pro's 5x zoom camera, in which the company misleadingly used DSLR-taken photos. Now, Huawei didn't say these photos were taken with a P30 Pro but it was strongly implied. Anyway, no bad press eh?

The P30 Pro made appearances on both AnTuTu and Geekbench, flexing its Kirin 980 muscle. We saw some camera samples actually captured with a Huawei P30 Pro and we got a good look at the upcoming flagship's specs.

Another big story this week was Apple sending out invites to a March 25 event, which is expected to be focused on Cupertino's push into video streaming. Look out, Netflix!

Google Allo messaging app shut down this week after less than three years. It looks like Android Messages will take on the baton from here on.

There weren't many phone unveils this week. Still, the Asus Zenfone Max Shot and Max Plus M2 made their debut with the new Snapdragon SiP 1 chip.

Samsung leaked its own Galaxy A90 in the US with a pop up selfie camera. Meanwhile the Honor 10i surfaced with a 24MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera and a Snapdragon 710.

We also saw a mockup the Google Pixel 4 XL with a dual camera on the rear and a dual camera inside the display.

That's it for week 11 - see you next week!
