Google: Android One continues to grow, Android Go reigns the low-end

At this year's MWC, Google has shared some insight on how Android One has been performing over the past year. Well, for starters, the Android One presence in the low-end segment has grown 250% year-over-year.

And it shows. The growing popularity of the much-optimized and stripped-down Android One has led to numerous announcements of Android One devices over the past year or so. Even here in Barcelona, Nokia announced three new Android One-powered handsets - Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2.

In the meantime, Android Go has taken a huge chunk of the low-end segment as it delivers the best possible user experience on devices having just 1GB of RAM. Take the Nokia 1 Plus as an example.

Google also revealed that it's working with Qualcomm and MediaTek to bring chip-level support for Android's Neural Network API and ML kit.
